Literature Text

Silver is the blade wielded in battle
That separates the traitors that to the enemy tattle.
Gold is plunder called "fortune and glory"
They make the war all the more gory.
Black are the hearts of the lovers of death
Who in their hate and their malice and in blood they dress.
Crimson is the blood of warriors who fought
Who, with their own lives, the lives of others they bought.
Gray are the clouds that observe overhead
The death and despair to which these lives led.
White are the talons extending from the sky
With it comes the roar that strikes fear into those who didn't die.
Yellow is the sun that dares not show its face
That weeps from the evilness of the human face.
Blue are those who lost loved ones in the war
They are the ones to open a new lifeless door.
Green was the grass before the fighting began
It turned to crimson and darkened the land.
Orange is the flame in a funeral pyre
Those who fought turn to ash in the fire.
Purple is the cloak of the unscarred king
Sending his troops into battle is his burden to sling.
Brown is the wood used to feed the flame
Used to burn the king and end his reign.
Blurred are the lines between wrong and right
Those who haven't done so already join the fight.
Insidious is the next chapter, turned without reason
Those who died saved those who commit treason.

Needless was the fighting
Why was it believed to be so?
Planted are the seeds of evil
And more of those who let them grow.
